Learning through an activity:

Hello children,

Can we take a deep breath?  Shall we do it for 5 more times? What do you feel? Yes, you are inhaling the air around us? Children, Are you able to see the air? No... We can’t see the air around us; but still we can feel the air.

Air is very important to live, we can’t survive without Air.

Children, I introduced someone who is invisible to your eyes on the very first day of our VBS, who is He? Correct! He is our loving Lord Jesus; he is with us always as he has promised.

Do you doubt God?

Sometimes we feel lonely, sad, unloved when you are being mocked by others, you may have a question and doubt about God’s presence around you.

As we have learnt from the today’s Bible lesson, even Thomas (one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus Christ) was in your situation; when the other disciples of Jesus Christ came and informed him that Jesus has risen from dead, he was doubtful. Even though earlier, Jesus informed all his disciples including Thomas that he will rise again from the dead after 3 days, but still he had doubt and told the other disciples, ‘’Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe” (John 20:25 NKJV)

Do you doubt like Apostle Thomas, about God’s presence around you? Do you know something?

God sent Apostle Thomas to India to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ after his resurrection. And Apostle Thomas came to Kerala,( He established 7 churches there) in India. He is the one who brought the gospel of Jesus Christ into India for the first time. He died as Martyr in Small Mount (Now it is called as St. Thomas mount) at Chennai, Tamilnadu.

Children, People called him as doubting /thinking Thomas, but God used him mightily for his kingdom as he had Strong faith and love on Jesus.

Conclusion

Children, do you think that you are weak and you can’t do things just like others do? Do you know? You are precious in the eyes of God; your friends may look at your mistakes and mock at you. God can use even the weak people, Bible tells us at II Corinthians 12 : 9 , ‘’My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness’’. (NKJV)

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving us even in our weakness, Lord! Help us to overcome all our fears and doubts, Give us strength to depend upon you; we pray this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Response

Memory Verse:

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”
- Isaiah 1:18 b
