THE TRAIL OF HALF-HEARTED FAITH - Jenima Sweetlin                                 

Bible Passage: Genesis 13: 11 to 13, Genesis 19: 1 to 26

Memory Verse: Psalm 33:4

FAITH

(Learning through an activity)

Imagine that you are standing in front of your loved ones (may be your mom, dad, grandma, grandpa) as blind folded and you are asked to lean on them; would you do that? Yes, of course you do it; definitely do it … because the one who is standing behind you loves you so much and they will never ever harm you. Isn’t it? Even though you can’t see your loved ones still you could trust them. Right?

Children! Do you know something? Let me introduce you one person who is invisible to your eyes ; who loves you so much and  being  with you always , he is the one created you, and he has engraved you on the palm of his hands(Isaiah 19:15)  Jesus loves you more than anyone in this world.  You should have whole-hearted faith in him.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO HAVE WHOLE HEARTED FAITH IN GOD?

You should have daily conversation with God. Yes, you must pray and read your Bible every day, Ask your parents help in reading the Bible if you are not able to understand,  so that you may able to understand who God is , and what he wants you to do. Bible tells us to pray all the time; when you pray, you can tell to God what you think and share your feelings with Jesus, your best friend who is always with you.

Activity:

Materials required

1. One paper cup
2. Two tissue papers
3. One tea spoon of mustard / FenuGreek seeds.
4. Water

Procedure:

1. Place one tissue paper inside the paper cup (Half level)
2. Sprinkle water and make the tissue paper wet.
3. Sprinkle the seeds on the wet tissue paper and cover the seeds with another

 tissue paper.

4. Sprinkle water again.
5. Keep it near to a window or balcony.
6. Sprinkle some water every day to keep it wet.

Children! Now tell me, have your plants grown immediately? No, not yet, isn’t it? We know that these seeds will grow as plants in some days, we should wait patiently.

We must sprinkle water everyday on the seeds as Aunty instructed you, just like that we should obey God’s commandments and should have a whole hearted faith that our

God is good all the time!

CONCLUSION:

As Aunty Preethi said (in the video) we should not have half-hearted faith like Lot and we should not be not like Lot’s wife who disobeyed God’s instructions. Because of her disobedience God turned her into a pillar of salt.  We should be like Abraham who had whole hearted faith and obeyed God’s instructions with his whole heart and still day he is called as the “Father of Faith”.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly father, we thank you for this day in our lives, we thank you for teaching us to have whole-hearted faith, Lord! Please help us to obey your instructions, Give us whole-hearted faith on you so that we may able to walk on your ways. We pray this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.
