DAY 5: The Trail of Irreverance
VBS General Session - Day 5
Toddlers Lesson-5
Synopsis
Scripture Passage: Act s 19:8-20
Memory Verse: Ephesians 5:8
Dear Children,
What is the third commandment of GOD?
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in Vain … Can anyone say what does it mean?
As we have learnt from the Bible lesson today, Sceva’s sons used the name of Jesus Christ to cast away the unclean sprit from the man but they were not lead by the Holy Spirit (the Holy Spirit was not with them) and what happened next? YES! Instead of leaving, it talked back saying “I know Jesus and I know Paul, but who are you?” and the unclean sprit in the man started to beat the seven sons badly and they ran away.
Children, we should not misuse GOD’s name and also we should respect the presence of GOD.
We should worship our GOD fearfully and should not take his name in vain. We should always attend the Church and Sunday school on time and worship him cheerfully with our whole heart. GOD is watching everything we do, so we have to be very careful.
In GOD’s sight you all are very precious and he loves you very much.
What the BIBLE tells us about giving respect to GOD?
Psalms 96:9 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! Tremble before him, all the earth. (NKJV)
Prayer:
Dear heavenly father, help us to be obedient and respect your commandments in all the things we do, we pray this prayer in Jesus name. Amen
Response
Memory Verse:
"For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!"
- Ephesians 5:8
