Joshua and Caleb – The Story
The time had come for the people of Israel to enter the promised land- Canaan . God had delivered them from Egypt , given them His law at Sinai , and brought them to the edge of the Promised Land. Moses wisely sent in Joshua , Caleb , and other leaders of the tribes to check out the land . Out of the 12 leaders who went as spies, only 2 , Joshua and Caleb returned with faith that God’s protection and promise would give them the possession – a land flowing with milk and honey.
While the other remaining 10 leaders spoke of their fear - the giants who were stronger than the Israelites .
They chose to show a lack of faith by grumbling against Moses and God. Thus, God caused the Israelites to wander in the desert for forty years and out of all of them only Joshua and Caleb entered the promised land – Canaan.
